Joshua Tree National Park
Day eight of our trip consisted of driving almost 4 hours to arrive at Joshua Tree National Park.
By this time we were road weary and we just did not have the energy to take as many hikes as I originally had planned so we opted to see the Skull Rock right off the main road.
People were climbing the massive boulders and from this photo, they almost look like ants.
The signature Joshua Trees, some of which were tall, spiky and spindly while others were full and bushy. We couldn’t help but to play some of the U2 album while driving through.
Key’s View - From here you can see the Salton Sea, Coachella Valley, the San Bernadino Mountains and on clear days, Mexico.
I believe my favorite part of Joshua Tree was the Cholla Garden. These unique cacti are nicknamed “teddy bear cactus” because of their fluffy appearance, but do not be fooled as just a brush against them will cause their spines to jump and latch onto your shoes, clothes or skin.
Cholla Gardens
Some of them were quite tall as you can see above! Continue to follow here to see more of our travels.
