I have heard it said that "while raising your children, the days are long but the years are short."

This phrase is beginning to resonate with me as we are preparing for my oldest to graduate high school a year early.   I see these images and I have to ask myself, how did we get here?  Wasn't it just yesterday when she would gently push my hands away and in her sweet little voice say, "No mommy....I do it.....I do it."  Even at a young age she showed extreme determination and independence.  So it should not have come as a surprise when she announced in the middle of December of her junior year that she wanted to graduate early.  As her mom, I've had mixed emotions and initially felt a twinge of sadness.  I didn't want her to be cheated our of her Senior year and all the many things that come with it, but on the other hand, I'm excited to see what is in store for her as she embarks on the next chapter in her life.  We are very proud of her and all of her accomplishments!
