Monterey, California
As we began day four on our California trip, we headed to Monterey, California. We made a quick stop to see the Natural Bridges State Beach.
After arriving in Monterey, we checked into our hotel and our first stop was the Monterey Aquarium. I traveled light and didn’t want to hassle with the tripod at the aquarium, so I just used my phone for a few photos in my favorite of the whole aquarium was the jellyfish. Their graceful movement makes them fascinating & mesmerizing to watch!
We always seemed to be racing against time to beat the sunset. My husband is always telling me that we try to pack too many things in on our vacations! We drove the scenic 17-mile drive of Pebble Beach, California. The haze was rolling in, making it a bit blustery but the views were still beautiful.
Top Left: Restless Sea appropriately named as the waves continually crash into each other due to the submerged jagged rocks.
Top Right: Golfer practicing his stroke at Point Joe
Bottom Left: Iconic Lone Cypress Tree at Pebble Beach which has stood for over 250 years overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Any serious golfer recognizes this as the logo for Pebble Beach Resort since 1919.
Bottom Right: One of the many Ghost Trees silhouetted against the sunset sky.
Below are another view of some of the same sights at sunrise on our drive to the Big Sur area the next morning. It’s interesting to see the difference at different times of the day.
Next up - Point Lobos & Big Sur. Continue to visit KDP to see more of our California travels.
