P52 Week 9 - Repetition
The sun, which had been a stranger was shining and was a welcome sight after many days of constant cloud cover. I was enjoying the view out of our back window when I noticed the light falling on a few random dandelions in the backyard. In turn, this reminded me of the impending weed pulling that would soon be necessary to maintain the flowerbeds and yard. Sighing, I stepped outside for further inspection. The one drawback of spring is the weeds that spring forth. Weeds = nuisance.
However, my thoughts changed when I noticed the golden light catching the wisps of the dandelion and I could envision the joy of my oldest grandson blowing the feathery flowers, watching them spread and gently fall to the ground. Pausing, I noticed the beautiful repetition of each cluster. Even in something I initially saw as a nuisance, we can see beauty. We see repetition everywhere in nature and throughout our daily life as we exercise our faith reminding me that there are some things we can even learn from the weeds of life. Weeds are tough, they hold the soil well, and withstand many harsh elements. And that is how I want my faith to be!
Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
