Project Light | Artificial Light

The kids have been out of school on spring break this past week so I've enjoyed having my family around.  It gives us a glimpse of the summer days ahead and makes us long for them just a bit more.  With that said, I have a confession to make.  I typically shoot each week for the project's theme in mind, however, this week I'm pulling an image from the archives.  This image was taken last month right before Valentine's Day.  Being super efficient (or so I thought) I purchased Valentine's for my son's party mid-January.  When I received the letter from school telling about the party specifics I skimmed over the contents thinking I'm sooo ahead of the game this year.  The night before the party, my son started labeling his Valentine cards with his classmate's names.  We quickly came to the realization that had I actually read the letter that hung as a reminder on my refrigerator, I would have realized I had not purchased enough.  The letter explained they were doing cards not only for his class but his "switch" class as well.  So we were short about eight valentines.  This required a quick trip to the local CVS and purchasing the last Valentine's on the shelf - Lifesaver Pops that had to be assembled with the cards, which my son had no desire to do.  Big sister came to the rescue and was willing to help with the assembly.  So here she is captured at the kitchen table under tungsten light.

I encourage you to continue around the circle beginning with Kennedy Tinsley, mom to four boys. To see more about Project Light you can visit the archives HERE.
